Alright guys. So my new mobo will be here today and I thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback from you pros.
I haven't worked with an Asus board for quite some time so I've been out of the loop. You can see the system specs in my sig.
If you need more specific info let me know. My goal is to overclock somewhat mildly to start then go for broke.

What I would like to know is:
What would you recommend to be the first things I should do after assembly.

Many thanks to those who post feedback. 🙂

First thing I would do is read all the sticky guides in the maximus section of the forum. And the offset guide in the old sticky section too. Very good read.

Once you have got your head around the new way of clocking just play around with your system getting a feel for how your parts work in unison with each other.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Funny you mention the stickys...I been doing just that...Really good stuff there. I've been really impressed with what so many have accomplished here and the advise shared among everyone.

Hmm I'd say first off don't connect everything up all at once just the basics for first switching on ceremony. Don't invite friends and family to this as, likely as not you put the RAM in the wrong slots or forgot to plug in the PSU etc. ust check everything is well seated and off you go first boot. If fresh install etc. then install the latest LAN driver that you have pre downloaded on a pendrive and maybe the chipset driver too and then update the rest online. Then try to set up your RAM at the rated speed...... setting XMP and reboot and then play about a bit doing your normal stuff to see if you get any problems. If it passes sleeping and waking up etc. connect other drives in there etc. and away you go.....
