Hello bojackr1

Did you have a set overclock in mind?

I can help you overclock your cpu if you'd like.

To tell you the truth I really dont. Been doing some research and I've seen so many speeds and combinations of speeds. I just want the max outta my CPU and GPU without burning them up. How about 4.5ghz? Ihave also read that it all depends on the actual chip that you have as to how much you can overclock it.

You are correct, no cpu's are created equal so speed and voltage will vary from cpu to cpu. What determines how far you can overclock your cpu is temperature. You have a good cpu cooler and depending on how good your cpu is you might be able to get 4.5GHz.

Install these three programs please

Real temp 3.70 - cpu temperature monitoring program
cpu-z - cpu speed and voltage monitoring program
ROG Realbench - cpu stress testing program to test for stability

Get these installed and then we can begin overclocking your cpu.

All right, go into the bios and hit F5 to set defaults. On the extreme tweaker tab set the ai overclock tuner to manual and sync all cores. Set the cpu core ratio to 42 and the cpu core voltage to 1.25v. We'll see where temps are with this.

When you get this done return here.
