Need some help overclocking 8600K

Hey guys,

so i am trying to OC my CPU for the first time 😜

Specs:

  • Asus ROG Strix Z370-F
  • i5-8600k
  • 2x 8GB G.Skill Trident RBG @3200MHz CL16
  • Corsair H100i v2
  • Asus ROG Strix 1080 Advanced
  • Corsair RMX550x

EDIT:
I said my CPU wont start under 1.3v ... well, thats wrong! I dont know what happened but i tried again (since i didnt want to believe i got such a bad CPU xD) with 1.28 and 1.26 and i am on my Desktop. Still no errors in RealBenach but still ONE worker crashing in prime95...
Also: If i disable AVX in prime95 it works like a charm??

EDIT2:
So after some testing yesterday i am at 4.8GHz @ 1.24v with an AVX of 3. Even with AVX at 2 it would still crash this one hated core. RealBench is fine though. Voltage under load droops down to 1,232v.
I am fine with the 4.5GHz for AVX-stuff but when i run prime95 for like 10-15min the CPU downclocks/throttles to 3.6GHz. HWinfo shows VRM temperature alert. Anyone got an idea how to fix this? I updated my OC-Settings below 🙂

I read some tutorials and imo it went really well for my first time. I played with the voltage/multiplicator but i cant seem to get anything stable above 4,6GHz...at least thats what prime95 suggests...
At the moment i am at 4,8GHz with 1.3v (below 1,3v wont start properly) and RealBench runs pretty well. No errors or anything. But in prime95 one core just keeps stopping right at the start (everything works at <=4,6GHz in prime95).
Here is a screenshot of my 30min RealBench Stresstest:

75039

OC-Settings:

  • Ai-Overclocker Tuner
    XMP

  • Multicore Enhancement
    Disabled

  • AVX
    3

  • CPU Core Ratio
    48 (Sync all cores)

  • LLC
    Level 6

  • CPU Current Capability
    140%

  • Long Duration Pakage Power Limit
    Max

  • Pakage Power Time Window
    Max

  • Short Duration Pakage Power Limit
    Max

  • CPU Core/Cache Current Limit Max.
    255.50

  • CPU Core/Caxhe Voltage
    1.240 (Manual)

If anybody got the time and could help me get this to work i would really appreciate it 😜
Would 1.35v still be okay? I am not too sure if it reduces the lifespan too much?
Should i just oc to 4.6GHz and live with my bad luck at the silicon lottery? 😕

Please note that i edited the post 🙂

Thanks in advance
