Well, My PSU dies on me and then I had a ATX extension go bad so the system wouldn't boot. I got all that fixed thank god. New problem though; I don't get any sound from my speakers any longer.

I have reloaded the device drivers. I have verified all the obvious things like the correct line (out) Everything used to work just fine. Now nothing.

When I plug in myLogitech G930 headset, I get audio from the TEST section - this is plugged in using USB BTW - but I get no audio coming out when I try and play an audio file. Very strange.

That is a software, or driver issue not an hardware issue. So you can be happy about that.

What you will need to do is right click on the speaker bottom RHS and then select the playback devices. Enable as default your speaker that you wish to use.

As simple as that.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Hi, thanks for the response. I tried what you speak of and I still get no audio from my speakers. I contacted Asus technical support and they told me to contact the RMA department 😞 I would really hate to have to rip my system apart for this one. I wonder if an audio card would work.

Only thing is that I got this mobo partly on not needing an audio card as it could give out some decent sound.

I don't know what M/B you have, but of course you could install a sound card. Make sure you disable the onboard sound and uninstall those drivers first. If your sound worked fine before I would try first by uninstalling the sound and drivers in device manager, rebooting and let windows rediscover and reinstall the drivers, if your headphones can be plugged into the speaker output jacks on your M/B, try then to make sure you have sound.

Yeah, I have even tried a fresh install on Windows and that did nothing at all, which makes me think it's an issue with the board and not just a driver problem.
