Alright, So I've had this laptop since about 2010, and it's been working pretty well. Recently, for the past few months anytime I boot up into Windows 7, I usually get to the "Windows" logo and then crash, HDD light stays dark and laptop will do nothing until restart. Multiple restarts brings different results; I even got into the desktop and verified windows, thought i'd fixed it until it crashed from overheating then would not boot up again. It was working perfectly when it managed to boot, until the crash. I've tried Start up repair, and the recovery partition used by hitting F9 at start up, and I'm lost. I've no idea what to do. I don't have the recovery disk supplied with the laptop any longer and have no system images or recovery options. The warranty is over, and I don't want to have to pay ASUS to fix this...
Any help or ideas? I can submit a video of what specifically happens, If needed..
