Need Advice on New Netbook

Hi,
My sister's Macbook Pro's graphics card just died. Yes, it is the 2008 MBP with the defective Nvidia 8600M GT, and yes, I took it to an apple store for the free repair. But guess what? The laptop was bought 4 years, 1 month, and 2 days ago, that is, 1 month and 2 days after the free repair for MBP's with a defective 8600M GT expires, and so they were gonna charge me five-hundred and twenty-six frickin' dollars! Talk about luck, huh?

Anyway, back to subject. My sister and I decided that it would be best if I were to give her my current 2010/11 MBP because she wants to have photobooth, garageband, etc. and I couldn't give a flying f*** about those apps. So anyway, we decided that I'll give her my mac and that she'll pitch in with buying me a netbook, since I only use my laptop on trips to basically store pictures and occasionally play minecraft.
So (and sorry for being so long-winded) I would like advice on what is the best netbook out there that could run some games if I wanted it to, and that is within the $300-$380 price range.

Thanks,

These are great little netbooks .. i would plan on upgrading win7starter though.
Asus Eee's @ NewEgg

you may also want to consider a laptop .. in the same price range .. generally
better cpu, more ram, dvd .. better graphics ect .... just more options for the buck.

as to the OP question ? there is good, then there is better ... As for me .. Asus.

(you may want to consider putting in a few more bucks ..
(dont be afraid of refurbs..they are gold.-- i just saw a G74-bbk my son picked up
from 'craig's list' for $600 like new - the deals are out there. just be careful.)
Asus Refurb's @ NewEgg

That's quite a sweetheart deal for Sis .. very nice of you.
Best of Luck.. Welcome to ROG.c.

@chrsplmr
Thanks for the suggestion! 🙂 I'll definitely look around at some laptops rather than netbooks.

Do you have any suggestions for a good 15" laptop within an about $300-$450 price range??? 🙂

Thanks again,

Strings ... as I suggested above .. if you click the link and look down the list ..
u do not say what country ur from ...
but tigerdirect.com , newegg.com and geeks.com are the three E-tailers I watch for deals.

You could be looking at an i5 lappy. Good hunt'n.c.

Sorry 'bout that, I live in Colorado. 😛

I looked around on Newegg and came across only one Asus that's within my price range, the K53Z-BBR3. But it had some pretty bad reviews on Newegg and Bestbuy.com
So I looked around on Bestbuy and came across this. It seems to have some pretty good reviews (and the fact that it makes my "gaming" alienware desktop look like a piece of sh*t is also a plus 🙂 ).

The only downside is that it only has 4GB of RAM (even though my desktop also has only 4). But I found that you can buy and 8GB set on Amazon for $45, so I could upgrade the RAM whenever I want, really...

Here are two on the "egg" that I found quickly:

1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230265
2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834127544

$300-$350 will get you some AMD comps, which are a lot weaker than their Intel counterparts. But their graphics are better, I'm told. If you want movies and occasional games, the AMD processor might be the way to go, since they are cheaper. That is really sweet of you to give your laptop to your sister. Maybe she will pitch in something extra and you could get a decent ASUS, on your way up to a ROG lappy. 🙂
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!
