Hello,
I'm trying to use an old (but gold) iiyama CRT as a second monitor, but can't get it's resolution past 1280x1024. I don't suspect the graphics card and I used to be able to get the monitor installed properly with windows 7 64bit, and iiyama's 32bit drivers; but with SP1 loaded, it wont. Apparently this is due to a critical security update to stop people using their equipment
😉 .
There are no 64bit drivers.
I found some hacks for iiyama's 32bit drivers here:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=88011.
Non of which worked 'out of the box' but after trial and error and running this command:
bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
the hacked driver (see below) SEEMED to load. I got the 'this driver is not signed do you want to install anyway'
warning', but the driver loaded and shows as being used for that monitor after a re-start.
Driver options for that monitor are listed as: generic pnp, or the hacked HA202D/DT, and the monitor is listed as HA202D (vision master pro 512).
But the resolution is stubbornly stuck and 1280x1024 max and refresh options are 75 or 85 hertz.
In monitor properties/trouble shooting, the option for other resolutions is greyed out ; as is 'hide modes this monitor properties cannot display'.
I really love the colour of that old monitor but it's just not useable at such low res
😞 I'm all out of options... any solutions would be very much appreciated.
