Monitor Behaving Strange on New Gtx 970 Strix ASUS, Connection Lost at Sleep[READ]

this is first day of Asus Gtx 970, everything working awesome,
but when my PC get idle Sleep as afk display, it lost connection and shows "attention, Check Connection Cable" instead of just getting TURN OFF with Blinking Monitor power LED ,
but when i wake mouse screen gets on..
its not giving me anyproblem but before at gtx 760 that was working good.
can any one guess why is it happening? thanks 🙂

oh im sorry,
specs are, Mobo: ASUS p8h61-m lx3 r2.0 Ram; 8 gb corsair veng. GPU: Asus strix Gtx 970, CPU: Intel i5 2310
Monitor: Philips LED 203v (DVI to VGA connector)

That's ok and thanks for listing. Would you consider upgrading your monitor so you can enjoy the full fruits of your new card. Considering your monitor only has a VGA connection and 1600 x 900 for resolution.

ah, i have less money atm, i think its hard to upgrade monitor in this year 😕

Oh sure no problem. It doesn't have to be insanely expensive, there are good deals to be had for 1080p, and has DVI and HDMI connections. I don't think you need to worry about this. Maybe check the cabling but as long it's not cutting out on you while using the pc, I don't think you need to be overly concerned.

Maybe someone else come along can explain why it didn't happen for the 760 card.

should i buy HDMI monitor? what should i see about monitor is good for gaming?
one more thing which is main,
is my new GPU is fine? i mean i should stop worring about it? the fault is in monitor?

You're welcome 😄 There are plenty like Dell Ultrasharp, Asus, LG, Viewsonic. Depending on your budget, it's possible to get a Dell Ultrasharp 24" with displayport for less than £200.

Your GPU is better than mine and it's perfectly good. I think you should worry about it if it keeps cutting out or going blank while using the pc. And if the display comes back on after waking up from sleep then it's fine. It sounds to me it's working fine.

I just think your next project is to get a new monitor.

There's one thing you haven't mentioned, what is your psu?

yea you are right, i have to change my monitor for better result, i will try to save my budget.
my psu is Corsair VS650 650w 50amp
yes, my display comes back when i wake mouse in sleep, it works fine,
may be its saying keep saying no singal in sleep mode because Monitor is not correctly recognizing , its just saying Generic Non-Pnp Monitor,with so many resoltuion upto 1600p, there is also available 1600x900 which is only for this monitor,
i hope it will good with new monitor.. 🙂

Thanks for that. Your psu is fine for GTX 970. That card is good for gaming on 2560 x 1440p as well as 1920 x 1080p so you've got plenty of options. Try to aim for monitors with displayport as well with HDMI and DVI.

I tried googling about your monitor and there's not much info out there except shopping sites. I tried looking at Philips websites and I can't find the listed driver for it.
