Memory Question

Hey guys

I am looking at memory from Gskill. My question is which would be best to go with in module size. I'm looking at 16GB of memory. Would it be better to get 4 x 4GB kit or 2 x 8GB kit? Or should i go with just 8GB of memory 2 x 4GB kit? The ram timings on the 8GB kits of memory seem to have slightly faster timing than the 16GB kits. Which brings me here to find out if i should i go with 8 GB or 16GB. What's the difference between 4 x 4GB and 2 x 8GB on the 16GB kits?

Hello Zabraxis

16GB would be a good choice and a 2x8GB kit will put less strain on the cpu's imc vs. a 4x4GB kit. Less sticks = less strain on the cpu's imc.

I'm running 16GB of G.Skill Trident X 2800MHz 4x4GB kit so it's really up to you, the i7 cpu's have a better imc than the i5's. If you want speeds over 2200MHz go with an i7 cpu.

I was looking at that exact same kit from Gskill. My question lies in what's better to get 4 x 4GB sticks or 2 x 8GB sticks?
