Maximus Viii Hero 6600k Adaptive

Hi I've recently tried to OC my 6600k I was able to get it to a stable 4.6 OC at 1.28 Volts, So I decided to go with adaptive mode with a 0.02 + offset to it, everything works fine but when it kicks up to 4.6 CPU-z shows my volts going to 1.57. I have it set to manual now but would like to go to adaptive. Any ideas?

Once you’re satisfied with your overclock, it’s time to return to the BIOS to make some final adjustments. Navigate to the CPU Core/Cache Voltage option again. Change it from Manual Mode to Adaptive Mode.

This time you will see a few options appear on screen. The only option that will interest you will be Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage. You will input the voltage that your CPU requires for 4.6GHz. To give your overclock some margin for error, it is good practice to increase your borderline voltage a notch. In other words, if 1.44V is the minimum voltage required for stability, add 0.01V - 0.02V to it.

After doing everything Chino has mentioned also make sure your power options in windows in set to Balance or adaptive mode will not work.

Doesn't seem to work.. I Put in adaptive, set additional boost to 1.30 since my stable is 1.28. I run cinebench and my volts spike to 1.582

Make sure you're running the latest BIOS for your motherboard. Also in which program are you measuring your Vcore?

I'm using cpu-z tried a few but always 1.58 volts

What bios version, if it's older than 1202 update the bios

Ok. I've updated to the latest.. now I get q-cde when I activate xmp.. But without a oc it boots fine

New update. Booted with normal then installed ai suite from site, did the 5 way and got a stable of 4.7 and max of 1.200 volts on an oc, seems everything is working fine now
