Maximus VI Impact Extreme Lag Spikes

BreakPoint
Level 7
The Wireless solution that comes with the Impact is really disappointing. My old computer using a Netgear usb dongle ran Team Fortress 2 without a hitch on 2.4 GHz band. The onboard 802.11ac on this board gets lag spikes that make the game unplayable on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

One of the reasons I bought this board was so I wouldn't have to use usb adapters. Now it looks like I will have to anyway 😞

Where was your USB connector in relation to the Impact wifi? Reason I ask is if you had the USB where it was not shielded by the case and a wall for example then it will work better. Built in Wifi which is located at the back of a case can sometimes be shielded and not work as it would or should.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

If the internet speed is critical for your usage, then it's better to have wired connection between your router and system...

Huh....

Believe it or not, due to being grandfathered into unlimited 4G LTE data with Verizon (and them trying every way to Sunday to screw me out of it), since March I've not had a direct line (no cable internet/DSL/etc), relying solely on my 4G via WiFi tethering. This is what I'm using right now, it's what I use to play games including BF3, it's what I use for d/l-ing music/movies, etc etc. With a Belkin small little WiFi-N600 USB adapter (seriously small), and my phone sitting next to me, about 4 feet from the PC....
I get (min-to-max)
25.2-47.8Mb/sec Download
11.1-27.7Mb/sec Upload
9-22ms Ping

Averages are:
39.5Mb/sec Down
24.2Mb/sec Up
11ms Ping

In fact, I am usually in the top 3 if not the number one lowest latency player in any BF3 match, all of which are 64player (I only play on NA servers).

So, wireless works just fine for gaming, I can say that much. The problem is somewhere with the specific equipment.

On my old PC The USB adapter was plugged into the motherboard. The game seems to work alright on 5 GHz now, but 2.4 GHz still ought not be
a problem.
