Maximus VI Formula - PC turns itself on – Bluetooth issue - and more

Hi guys,

I am having some problems with my Maximus VI Formula and it is getting a bit frustrating. The first problem is the sound issue, however this is already addressed in the forum, and as I could see Asus is trying to find a solution.

The second issue is the Bluetooth/WIFI driver can get problematic some times. After installing windows 8 pro, the driver sometimes does not work as it does not recognize the Bluetooth module. Another weird message I get from windows is, that a USB device has not been properly installed. However I have gotten it to work somewhat stable at this point.

The third issue that has been bugging me is that my pc is turning its self on after I shut it down. Now, the funny thing is that it stays off for about 3-4 minutes and then powers itself on. After it powers itself on, I go into command prompt and type in “powercfg lastwake” and it responds with “0”. I have checked if windows maintenance is set to power on my pc, and I can see that, that option is off.

- Does anybody know why my pc is turning its self on by itself?

I also checked event viewer, and realized that it is filled with warnings and errors. For example:
- NvStreamSvc cannot be found
- DipAwayMode.exe
- BCM42RLY service failed to start

Is this somehow connected to my problem? I did run AIDA64 for six hours and everything went fine. I ran AIDA because my system is overclocked to 4300. However it had the same issue when it was running stock.

As a matter of fact, I do have that installed. Let’s hope that removing it will solve my restart/powering on issue.

However do you know if it is normal to have this many errors in the “event viewer”? And has anybody else experienced these Bluetooth issues with the Maximus VI formula or any other Asus board which uses the “mPCIe Combo II with Wi-Fi”?

NvStreamSvc pertains to NVIDIA Shield. DipAwayMode.exe probably belongs to AI Suite III. And BCM42RLY should belong to Broadcom.

Thanks for responding but is it normal? Or do I need to fix this?

Good idea – I am still having issues with my pc powering itself on, even though I uninstalled the intel RST software. I checked the event viewer once again and found “kernel – power issues. It says “The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.”

Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Same issue here. Tried everything and mu VI will still power itself on. Only in the middle of the night which is weird. Only time it won't do it is when I have ErP set to Enable and S4+S5.

I'm having the same problems with my Maximus VI Formula also. My computer will just turn on whenever it wants, and I can't use WiFi and Bluetooth at the sametime.

Could you all who are having this issue confirm that your systems bios is at defaults.

Please clear CMOS and let your system run at defaults for a day or so, need to find out what is causing this.
