Maximus VI Formula and Dual Inteligent Processors 4

Hi,

I have just bought the motherboard I mentioned above, and I was looking at the included software. I saw that DIP4 was available and decided to take a look at it. Unfortunatly the software gui does not correspond with the ones I have seen in different streams. At advanced I have the option of CPU 4,2; 4,3; 4,6 instead of Ratio only or BLCK first + Fast tuning or Extreme tuning. I have tried to OC the system with the 4,2 option, but it seems that the computer only reboots without testing anything (and I get a BSOD). How does the ROG version of DIP4 work? Can I use DIP4, which do have the above options, from other Z87 motherboards or is that not recommended? I would suppose that the formula, the 2nd highest ATX board, would include the abilitie to overclock via DIP4 and 4-way.

My system:
Asus ROG Maximus VI Formula
i5-4670k with Mugen 4
16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport VLP (1600Mhz)
Coolermaster V1000
Asus GTX 780
128GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD

Thanks in advance for the replies.

The full four way optimisation is not an option for the Formula board due to the difference in hardware.

What are you BSOD codes?

The formula is an enthusiast board and as such is more aimed at those folks who OC themself and not use a one button approach.

With your cooling a 4.4GHz OC should be possible CPU willing that is.

What I would do is in the BIOS F5 and enter for defaults then set XMP as my mode of OC

Multiplier to 44x

in Digi+ LLC to 3

Vcore to offset
+
0.02

Leave all else in bios on auto and F10 and save.
