Maximus V gene 3570k oc advice

Hey Gents,
Few questions to anyone. Purchased a maximus gene V and 3570k with a 212 evo as the cooler as my first run at OCing. Right now at 4.2ghz I am running at 48 centigrade under prime95 testing and gaming. It is set at 1.245V with auto LLC. Is it generally ok to keep at these settings or should I try to lower the voltage and run higer LLC?

As a side note, Borderlands 2 seems to crash every now and again, sometimes after 20 minutes and other times after a couple of hours. Any reason that this would be from overclocking? Noticed that it happens more often when I start lowering the voltage below 1.24 with auto LLC.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Set your voltage at 1.24 and LLC at medium. And play some Borderlands if it crashes increase the voltage one notch and play some more.

I am not a fan of leaving LLC at auto.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Sounds good, Ill give it a try and post back when I get some results.

1.24v at normal LLC failed a Prime95 test after a few minutes but, putting LLC at high with same voltage seems to be going strong. Overall it runs ~5 centigrade cooler now than with auto LLC at same voltage. Borderlands still crashed after a few hours so its probably not the OC but, the game. Might try to run off two cores and see what happens...
