Hi all new to this forum but thought it would be the best place to post.

As in title i have a asus maximus iv gene-z mobo which i have had for around 18 months or so now, everything has been running perfect on it since the day i installed everything and got it running, problem is, the other day i came to start it and it wouldnt boot just got the debug code 00 and the red cpu led on, after a couple of restarts and unplugging it from the wall it worked as per norm and was able to game a few hours before shutting it off, next day booted up as per norm then after about 20 mins it just went to code 00 and everything shutdown, i reset and went away again and computer was sweet for the rest of the day. now i go start it today and it just wont boot at all, i have tried many times even checked all the connections with no luck.
any help would be apprecieated

Welcome to the ROG forums, Orthas.

The 00 QCODE and the CPU QLED remaining lits tell me that the motherboard isn't detecting the CPU. Have you tried reseating the CPU?

just tried that, was very careful and took my time but no dice 😞

Code 00 is normally associated with the CPU not being picked up, however there are a number of reasons why that can happen. The PSU for example can cause this if the PSU does not initialise correctly. Do you by any chance have a spare PSU you can use to test?
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

No unfortunately i do not at the moment, cant really afford to buy new parts when i don't know what part is fried.

I may be able to get hold of an older psu, can i just plug in the mobo cables and test to see if that works or do i need to plus in hdd's etc also? im just not sure it has sata power cables and def no gpu ones
