Matrix Platinum never turns red

I bought an ASUS HD 7970 Matrix Platinum. It has leds that show the cards load.

I've seen videos where the card jumps between red and dark blue but mine never goes over dark blue, ever. It has never ever been red.

Can someone tell me if I am missing something? Is something stopping my card from working properly? Is there a test I can do just to see if the games I played just didn't load the card fully?

Have you tried to run a stress test such as furmark or unigine valley and seeing if this utilizes the GPU to the fullest? If you use Afterburner or Precision X with RivaStatisticsServer you can follow GPU usage in an on-screen-display OSD. Might be worth tracking...
