Looking to OC Ram - Tips/Tricks Please.

Heya guys,

Well i got my machine up and working properly now and fully stable (Props to those that helped fix the errors).

So right, I have a set of CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 set of ram's (Corsair 16gb Vengance 4 DIMM chip kit).

I'm looking to crank them up to 1866MHZ or to tighten the ram timings, What is better for me? I am looking to try push performance out of them as much as possible. I've looked around the site and into some of the options and they make some kind of sense but i've ran stress tests and failed within 5minutes so i'm wondering if someone could offer some advice on where to start?

Bios Settings so far:

CPU Volts: 1.300
Dimms: 1.55V (1.5 chips but boosted to help stability)
VCCISO: 1.13150 (turns up at 1.14125 i believe)

Any advice/things you need ask or refer me to something that could help me along the way.

Vengeance is nice.. Never had any probs with them.. (on 1155)

Tight/loose??

Matter of taste..

I prefer both ways..

Play some with mem tweakit..

Save a OC profile, in Bios.. So u can return and restore, if an6ything happened..

Tight or loose doesn't exactly made my mind think right things...

/takes my brain out of head and tells it off

Well with no experience on it before, I thought maybe a little guide in the right directions and which type of settings i should be aiming to increase, I'm looking for EITHER: tigher ram timings to get me super awesome load speeds and things like that.. or a higher bandwith (if that does me any good?) or if i can get best of both worlds that would also be amazing.

U can start with the mhz (bclk) OC, and the primary timings, and voltage..

105 bclk give u about a 100 mhz OC on the ram.., and around 200 mhz on the cpu ( if i am not wrong)

You have a 1155, so dont go higher on the bclk than 105

Play with it..

Always have a backdoor open, if you have to reset..

1,6v is enough for a 100 mhz OC (ram)

step up tRCD 1 step, and see if it post. and take it from there

Really cant give you anymore advice, i dont know how your ram handle..

See i pushed the BLC to 103.5 before and it just crashed out on me, I even then used F5 and used Extreme Option on the AI Suite to get the BLCK clock skew timings and it just doesn't seem to be able to hand anything over 100 AT ALL.

Oh yes, it does.. U just have to play around with it..

Keep safe voltages..

Sometimes> The more options in use, is not necessary the best..

U have to find out which settings, is good.....and which not..

Okay i'll do abit of reading around and give it some tweaking but under your eyes what would be a better idea.. higher bandwith or tigher timings if i cannot surpass alot of overclocking on the memorys, Would i also be able to grab these 1600mhz and push to 2133mhz? Or does the IMC just die or is it just fully down to settings?.

Thanks for answer.

1600-2133.. Hmm, leave it..please

before u throw yourself over the ram OC, be sure to have the cpu, and the OC settings, fully stable..

or you have a mess..

Oh thats been stable for days/week .. i was just asking if it was possible, Maybe 1866 then? with good/tight timings, or 1600 with really tight timings, which one is the better to go for?

No its not, if you push the bclk to 103,5 and it crash.. Its not stable..

Please start in the right end.. and u will see that it will work out great..
