Ok so now with a little more knowledge on this OC stuff, I have decided to post up some of my successes, but mostly failures....lol

Ok first off the rigs, so people know about them.

Gaming

Asus Sabertooth X79
i7 3930k @4.7GHz
Corsair H100
32GB Patriot Viper DDR3-1866
Asus GTX 580
OCZ 120GB Vertex 3 (os)
OCZ 120GB Vertex 3 (Games/Programs)
OCZ 120GB Vertex 3 Cached with a 2TB WD Cavier Green HHD
300GB WD HHD
Seasonic X760

24/7 Rig

Asus Maximus lV Extreme
i7 2600k @ 4.1GHz
Antec Kuhler 920
16GB GSkill RipJaw DDR3-1333
EVGA GTX 550 (2GB)
OCZ 240GB Vertex 3 (os/programs)
2TB WD Cavier Green HHD
1050w PSU - Enermax?

So I was told not to use the AI suite crap and use CPUID. I have that installed on both rigs now and I also got the 64-bit Prime95.

I was worried about the 24/7 rig as I bought it off a guy used. He said it wont boot and come to find out it was a bad stick of RAM. Replaced and OC'c it to 4.6GHz at first, then backed it off to 4.1GHz and it has been solid, and running Prime95 right now and core temps are around 65'C and Socket at 47'C.

I was at first confident in the Gaming Rig at 4.7GHz because of the fact I never got BSOD of frezze ups, except from a bad SSD. It would run games no problems, but I should have known this doesn't make it stable.

I installed Prime95 and tried to run that.

No go......lol

BSOD before it even started any test....lol

Sombitch, now I have to figure this out.....

So with some more fans on the way to help cool the Vcore area, I have also decided to change my memory out for something that is Quad Channel, and designed for X79. I decided to pick up 32GB of G Skil 2133mhz CL9Q.

My current memory is not going to cut it. No errors or anything, but it just can't take a OC.

I'm not complaining... Now thw wife, maybe.

Well come to find out even tho I press F5 to reset settings, my timings were still set for the old sticks...? wierd.

I should have checked it out in bios first before I started testing the memory, but usually it sets to default of the hardware. After the 4th stick having errors, I checked and set them to correct timings.

Wierd thing this morning tho, I let memetest run all night to check for errors and when I sat down I noticed that the machine was off? I turned of my monitor before going to bed, so when I turned that on the machine rebooted?

I had some BSOD's lastnight right after the Windows is starting screen, so I also DL the Windows Debugg software so I can view the dump files. I was getting no BSOD's when I had the timings wrong, just could not pass a Intelburn test. Now I set them correct, I get them....lol

I find it wierd that I had a stable machine @ 4.6, with slower memory, and now with new sticks meant for X79 platforms, I am getting BSOD's.

Hopefully this is an easy fix.

These are the screen shots. No matter what I change and F10, it double boots and sets to this.....

Maybe I should clear the CMOS.....

It seems that BIOS is doing its own thing. I set it up, f10, then I get a double boot, and then it sets everything up different. Only good thing about this is that its stable enough to run IntelBurn complete.

Any insight on this? Never came across this before.....
