I have the P5N32-e sli (not Plus). There is 2 connections above the PCI slots. One is SPDF and other is "optional Temp3". What is the "Optional Temp3" for? There is 15 pins w/black base. am I assuming that is for temp sensors to place on mobo? I have looked everywhere online and no one speaks of it. I am looking into a temp controller but want to see if I can utilize my mobo.

Welcome to the ROG Forum!

I'm looking in the manual of that mono and I'm not sure which connector you're actually talking about...

Usually the Optional Temp connectors are what their name says - temperature probe connectors. But those are 2-pin ones...

On the P5N32-e sli I can not find these temp connectors...

Could you post a picture highlighting the connector in question?

I do see a "2pin" type setup. I do have 2pin sensors. I just didnt want to place on mobo. I have not found anything either via manual or any "Overclocking guide" that utilizes them. It reads there (sorry for blur). "SPDIF_02 OPT_TEMP 3"

This is a P5N32-e sli (not Plus)

Hm... maybe that board layout was used on other models too... - I really don't see in the board's manual to have temperature sensors mentioned...

If you want to use temperature probes in your system, I think it's better to connect them to fan controller or just a simple temp display...

Nah… I can not find it…

Coldsteel, do you see Opt Temp Sensors 1 and 2?

Oriagranat, if I connect the temp probes, where I will be able to see the readings? In the BIOS, in Hardware Monitor I see only 2 items: CPU temperature and Motherboard Temperature...

That is intresting to know. I guess I was lookinh gor someone that have utilized them. I have Aerocool FP-001 for a temp controller. but I really like the "clean" look in front bay so I was curius about the "OPT Temp" header on the mobo. Well, I will leave this up and continue to look. Thanks so far.

I do not see "Temp 1 or 2". I use HW Monitor for my temps. Here is the SS. My PC is water cooled. I am new to the OC/technical part of the process. I am wanting to learn more. I wanted to find out what the "Temp 3" is before I plug anything into it. At first I thought it would be a header for a plug that some Temp LCD uses. Not sure if meant for 2pin thermal sensors. If so, it would be nice.34087
