Installing SSD in G750J

Hi, I recently bought an ASUS G750J and I want to know if it's possible to put a SSD in the second compartement and keep windows 8 booting from the HDD. I want to put the SSD without losing and the HDD stuff and trying to not touch too much in the BIOS. Is that possible? Thank you very much.

If the computer can have 2 hard drives in it then yes it would work fine, You may have to adjust some settings for the boot disk in the BIOS. and make sure that the default start up device has the disk you want your computer to start off selected.

Computer has one HDD and another free space, I have windows running in the HDD, if i don't change the BOOT do i need to configure anything in BIOS for the new SSD?

I got my laptop form amazon G750JX-TB71, it hase only one 750gb HDD and the other compartment empty, i have old SSD Crucial C300 265gb, i installed it in the empty room, then formatted it, then clone the operating system with Macrium Reflect free edition,
when completed, i changed the Original HDD with the SSD, and then startup the laptop, everything woks until now and i did all windows updates, so far no problems.
will give it some time before formatting the original HDD, but i red in other places it has problems to clone windows 8, i didn't face that.
Overall i'm pleased with my purchased and the upgrade with SSD.

Cheers

Is there a size limitation on SSD's for the G750JM. I want to install a 512GB SSD as a secondary drive to the existing 1TB HD.

No capacity limit. Only the physical size has to be 2.5" SATA III.

Yhnos - you just plug it in and fire it up. No need to change anything. When in Windows you should get prompted to format it, then you'll have a new SSD 🙂
