Image Integredy Check FAILED!

I have the Asus Maximum Gene IV, revision 1.xx and I want to upgrade my CPU from the i5-2500k to the i7-3770k. Plus none of my Asus software works correctly with Win 8.1 so I figure it might help that too. As in AI suite doesn't give fan control, no OC control or anything.

So I'm making an attempt to upgrade my BIOS. Which is version 0902. But I've been having nothing but problems. Because every time I go into Ezflash BIOS, I get an Image Integrity Check Failed.

I've gone out and purchased a brand new flash drive because I read you can't flash off an SD card but I'm having the same result.

I quick formatted the USB thumb drive to FAT32, and made it Default Allocation, named the drive FLASHDRIVE.
I named the BIOS file ASUS3603.ROM

Also I've tried placing the ROM file on my C drive, but that gives me another error message about format so that doesn't work.

As far as I can tell this is the very original BIOS from when the board was first released. Do I have to upgrade in every incremental BIOS release to work my way up to 3603?

Hello

Did you download the 3603 for the Genie-Z and not the Genie-Z/Gen3?

Good call. I didn't realize there was a Version 3, different than my own. That's really confusing. Ok well I'm going to give it a shot. I bet it works now. AI Suite too I bet.

Praz you totally nailed it. If I didn't come on here to the forum I would have never figured it out. You know I buy ROG, not just because the hardware is great. But also because the ROG community is great.

Thanks again Praz

Hello

Glad it was such a simple fix and you're welcome. 🙂
