Just an FYI - Microcenter says the i7-4790k will be available on July 4th and is ready for pre-order. $279.99. They list it as a 3.6 GHz though. I contacted them and they say they will correct the ad. This is also the one without a cooling fan included, this is for processor only.

I'm tired of throwing away Intel cooling fans. Good riddance.

Newegg is also taking preorders for 4790K and says they will be available 25 June. Their price is a lot higher though.

NewEgg began shipping the 4790Ks today. Mine should arrive this Friday. Not sure how MicroCenter can sell them for $279.99, even w/o the fan. Great price though. Wish I had one locally here.

I heard microcenter has always had the lowest price for cpu. Maybe they have a special deal? Or are losing profit.
