i upgraded my gpu to the GTX 980. the G20 model i had only came with one power supply the 230W. i bought the 180W and have plugged it in, but it seems that all the power is still coming from the 230W block. it gets to the point that the block over heats. while 180W is still ice cold. my question is how do i run the power through both blocks simultaneously?

wait, what? that you didn't get at least 400W to begin with, and then got an adittional 180W, instead of upgrading the first one, i cannot understand.

the PSU doens't start automativally, just because you have hooked it up to the GPU. but it's just the green wire,on the 24pin, that needs to be connected to ground at power up. you ought to be able to find a cheap adapter cable on ebay

Watercooling FTW

His pc the G20 has two power supplies and one of them is just for the gpu, it was designed that way to conserve on space as it's a compact pc.

tonkatits - you need to check that you've installed it correctly, if you bought your pc new it should have came with the two psu's preinstalled.
