How to update BIOS before you have your CPU?

So, if I was to buy the Asus Maximus VII Hero and use Devil's Canyon I would need a BIOS update to 0609?

I doubt that there will be new stock with the BIOS 0609 in Australia. I heard that you can use BIOS flashback feature, but I heard that it requires .cap file as current BIOS. If so, how do I know if my motherboard has a BIOS that support Devil's Canyon? Also how do I know if BIOS version 0401 has a .cap file?

Lastly, which USB port do I use for updating BIOS?.

If you think you've seen this post somewhere before, I copied this from another forum because there weren't anyone that could help.
Thanks.

yes you can use biosflashback to update your bios without a cpu, to use this feature you have to convert the bios file from the asus website, go to the motherboard model page and under support there is a utilities tab where you can find the bios converter just follow the instructions and you're done !
i only use this method to update my bios whenever is possible as it is for me the best way to do so
here you go (bios renamer)

Thanks for your reply.
So after renaming it, all I need to do is to plug the USB into the motherboard and press the BIOS flashback button?

Thanks
