 I can see my optical drive in Windows after clearing cmos. But when I press the eject button it seems like there is no power going to it (the blinking light doesn't even blink anymore during boot). It cannot be detected by bios. What is happening?!?!:confused::confused::confused::confused: Maximus V Gene
Check you power cable, if the tray don't open it's the power cable or the DVD is dead. DVD drive are prone to die, I change quite few, at $ 19 I don't even RMA, unless it's a Blue-ray
Okay thanks. Only possible explanation is that the power cable was never attached fully anyways, when I moved the tower for the cmos clr button, it loosened. I re plugged power and sata, everything up and working now Thanks.
