Help with RAMPAGE IV FORMUA New BIOS OC restriction

Hi Guys

Been having an issue with my OC since my R4F BIOS was updated....

Before the update my OC was was 4.7Ghz Using 125 STRAP and all cores @ 38 using 1.4v

Updated BIOS
Started having Blue screen crashes with CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT in Prime-95 and in Game... PC boots though??

Since the update the best I can get stable is a 4.5Ghz 125 STRAP with all cores @ 36 Multiplier using 1.4v

Any thoughts or tips to get back up there would be a help

Hello noemzan,

The later bios's for the Rampage IV boards are for Ivy bridge-E cpu's, you have a sandy bridge-E cpu. Roll back to the bios you were using before you updated.

AH!... missed that! Thanks dude!... was really worried about my CPU... Phew!

...any info on where u got that info... would help for the future as the notes on the ASUS site just say "Improves system stability" ??
