hi guys just need some advice overclocking my cpu past 4.5ghz. i have intel I5 650, maximus III gene and 4gb corsair dominator gt running at 1866mhz.(lower if i overclock) and using a corsiar h60 cooler .
now i have sucessfully managed 3.8 , 4 , 4.2 and yesterday a stable 4.42ghz(40 degrees at full load!)
but i cant for the life of me pass 4.5 ghz, i tried various voltages but nop , so if someone with the same specs could help , it would be great thanks

You probably won't be able to without chilling it with more extreme cooling and voltages. 4.5GHz is considered quite high for the Clarkdale core. Have you pushed the multiplier as far as it'll go to reduce the stress on the BClk?

yes i tried different multiplier.lately i used 21* with a blck of 210 for stable 4.42 ghz.to my surpriseas i never got anything with a bck that high , also had to up the voltage to 1.6v which was a bit scary i must say but it work fine without crashing...il keep triyng ...

1.6 is VERY high. It maybe fine now but you risk much faster electromigration that'll kill the CPU much faster than normal. 210 bclk is also high, and without extreme cooling it'll be hard to go further.

Not all CPU's will go higher than that, and when taken with the fact not all board do either you might have hit your wall with the current set up. Voltage can not make up for golden silicone sadly.
