New to ASUS boards and sort of to overclocking would like to get to 5GHz on a Crosshair V Formula Z with AMD FX-9590
Current Build specs:
CPU: AMD FX-9590
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Liquid cooling (mounted at top just below top fans with some modification to case)
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z
RAM: AMD Radeon Memory Performance Series DDR3 16GB 1866MHz (8GB x 2)
GPU: Sapphire Tech Dual-X AMD Radeon HD7850 2GB GDDR5 x2 in Crossfire OC GPU 1050 MHz Memory 1250 MHz
Power Supply: Cooler Master Ultimate 1100Watt 80 Plus Bronze (mounted at bottom)
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series
Primary Drive: OCZ 128 SSD
Secondary Drive: Seagate 1 TB 7200 RPM 64 MB cache
Optical Drive: LiteOn Blu-ray with LightScribe DVD/CD R and RW
Case: NZXT Tempest with: 2 140mm fans @ front, 2 140mm fans @ top, 1 120mm fan @ side, 1 Thermal Take 120mm fan @rear
Key Board: Logitech G15 1st gen
Mouse: Logitech G5 1st gen
I tried adjusting CPU voltage to 1.536 and then tried to use the AMD auto tune to get it to 5GHz would get a warning that the CPU was at 65 c and I would just stop it because to worried to fry the CPU
need complete list of settings that need to be changed in the bios to get the CPU stable and not to hot at 5GHz
what settings need to be enabled turned to auto and what needs to be manually set and to what
