Help needed, lost half the ram after upgrading to a new cpu!

System:
Cpu: i5-6600 -> i5-7500
Ram: DDR4-2133Mhz 16Gb -> DDR4-2133Mhz 8Gb (After installing new Cpu)
- Bios & Cpu-Z tell me that I have 16Gb but the sistem only recognizes 8Gb and yes it's an x64 System).
Gpu: Gigabyte Gtx 1050 Ti OC 4Gb
Moba: Asus B150 Pro Gaming/Aura

Can't figure out why I lost half the Ram and how to solve it since I don't have the i5-6600 anymore.

Reseat all of the memory as it could just be a DIMM not making good contact. After that you may want to try the sticks one at a time to see if they all work by themselves. You can also try different pairs of slots to see if some of the slots are faulty. Finally you may want to test all of the sticks installed together with memtest86+. If it's not the sticks or the slots you may have an issue with a weak memory controller on the CPU. You might have to manually put more voltage into the memory controller to get it stable with all of the memory.

I checked if there was any connection issue, tested one by one, and they all worked just fine. It's just that it stops counting after 8Gb but the slots of the ram still appear occupied and how much each has. Everything started after me changing to a i5-7500.
And that was because (while building today a computer for a friend with a Asus B150 Pro Gaming it wouldn't even turn on (bios, manufact...etc) so I switched the cpu's 6600 <-> 7500 and it worked on my Asus B150 Pro Gaming/Aura but I instantly got reduced to 8Gb.

And now I don't really understand why... or why the bio does recognize what is inserted but won't give me usage of it.

I would remove the CPU and check that none of the pins got bent or fouled as well.

That's something I can check in these upcoming hours, but do you happen to have something in mind of what could cause it or fix it?

You mean what would cause the pins to be bent or cause the memory to stop working? The pins are pretty delicate so even a slight bump could bend them. It's even possible that a pin was already bent but the other cpu made enough contact to avoid an issue. Being fouled could happen if a piece of fuzz or a bit of thermal paste gets into the socket. If a pin is a little bent steady hands and light pressure with a small implement can coax it back.

Your not running the correct BIOS version for that CPU. According to the Asus support page to run the 7500 you need to be running BIOS 3016.
