I just bought a Seasonic 860 watt power supply to replace my Antec 750 watt since my mobo was giving me an "error enabling keyboard" and upon looking it up most people said that was likely to be a power supply culprit. Especially since my PSU got spotty reviews, and the Razor Blackwidow Ultimate is a power hog.
When I first plugged my Seasonic unit in it started making a clicking noise on boot up (gone now). Now when I start playing games on it I noticed my legs (where the computer is) all the sudden started feeling hot as hell. So naturally I downloaded Open Hardware monitor and started logging.
After about 10 minutes of playing counter-strike global offensive I had core peak temperatures of 80*C @ 74% load capacity. Also this power supply is suspiciously louder than my previous one.
Is this a defected PSU or is something else a problem? I thought Seasonics were supposed to be a tier above everyone else?
Thanks in advance!
