[HELP] Crosshair Formula-Z iROG firmware update infinite loop

jstorm

I just installed my new motherboard and have been getting an infinite loop of this firmware update. I don't know why it just started. When I first installed everything was fine, but I needed to use my cd to install the intel lan driver. When it caused a reset, I have been stuck in this infinite loop for a hour now.

I have tried:

1. Flashing every single bios from the beginning of time.

2. CMOS refresh.

3. I have tried disconnecting and replugging everything.

4. I have used many of the suggestions from this forum, as well as other forums/random posts.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest going on EBay and buying a BIOS chip. Specify which BIOS you want and simply swap out. Sounds like you have a corrupted bios chip.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I had the same issue, finally got in and got windows 7 put on the system. When I shut it down it started doing it again. Did you find a fix for this yet jstorm? I've already RMA'd my board but I hope the next one doesn't give me the same problem. Oddly the only way I got in to bios was by unplugging the power, plugging back in, hitting cmos reset, and restarted with the go button. This let me install windows and restart the computer many times, but when I completely shut down it came back 😞

USB devices can initiate a BIOS update procedure with this board (controllers, drives, headsets...etc), if there is no Bios update on the USB device the motherboard loops, and will continue to do so until the USB device is removed. Try unplugging all but mouse and keyboard devices and all should be good
