HD bay in G751JT-CH71 misaligns bracket and drive

Heya! I went to stick an SSD into my new G751-JT, but once I've connected the drive to the port, the included bracket does not align with the screws on the drive. The master bay doesn't have this problem. I've noticed that the bracket has different alignments, but neither one produces the right result. Am I missing something here, or did ASUS just screw up?

Everything empty

Drive in the bay, notice that the SATA connector is firmly seated

51164

If I align to the drive, the bay is unaligned

...and vice-versa (as would be expected)

...and for completeness, here's what it looks like when the "master" side is over the connector.

Obviously, I can just drill a bigger hole in the bracket, but I really shouldn't need to. Is there just something I'm missing completely?

It occurs to me that there are actually subforums for this model. I don't suppose a mod could move this post over there?

I know this is quite a while later, but I don't know what this post means by "on the contrary slave a dx master a sx". I worked around this issue with a taped piece of cardboard, but again, this seems like a really strange oversight, unless there's just something I'm missing.
