GPU Slot arrangement Question.....??

Hi all,
As per the recommended arrangement of GPU cards I am running a pair of 7970's in slots 1 & 2B....
I am about to add water cooling to the GPU's and have a bridge connector that will only work if I have the GPU's inserted in slots 1 & 2A.
I can connect the GPU's into the water cooling loop, as per the existing arrangement, however, I wondered..... If I install the GPU's into slots 1 & 2A, Firstly, will the mobo read that there are two GPU's installed, and will there be any loss in performance...???
I'm planning to drain the existing loop tomorrow night and link up the GPU's, so any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.

My advice is if you are going to the expense of buying water cooling get a proper bridge that will fit the correct slot spacing.

Totally agree with that ^^^! Using other slots than the recommended ones by the manufacturer, will not give you the full performance... - then why even bother with watercooling?!

No bridge available to match my blocks and the spacing, so thought I'd just ask the question....
Will just skip the bridge and link up the blocks......

Ah I see.

Maybe if you post the waterblocks that you are planning on using someone here might have a solution or be using them and maybe help.
