Gear down

Let me start by saying thanks for any help on this issue as Im new to this and appreciate any help on the matter. My motherboard is a b-450f , Ryzen 3600 cpu and corsair 3000 rgb pro. When I selected the docp profile in the bios it stated 15-17-17-35. However cpuz says its running at 16-17-17-35. After some research online I became aware of a thing called gear down mode. Which basically stated it rounds up timings to a even number etc. Common for Ryzen systems. So I assume this gear down mode is essential for Ryzen? Turning it off would cause issues? Also the Ryzen software shows that gear down is enabled . Cant say I recall seeing a gear down option in the bios.

gear down is off in my system without issue. And if you look Ryzen DRAM Calculator you will notice gear down is off in most performance profiles and on in most of the SAFE presets.

It's in DRAM Timing Control towards the bottom.

You may find these guide helpful about how memory timings work.

Thanks helps a lot .

I turned it off and ran mem test no errors. I guess geardown is on by default?
