G75VX new HDD - can't use?

I'm not a computer hardware wiz, so please bear with me. I bought a new 7200 rpm WD black hard drive to replace the primary drive in my G75. I opened up the casing, put it in the second bay (left one), and closed it up, thinking that was all I had to do to use my new drive. When I open up My Computer or Disk Management, the new drive isn't there. I opened up the BIOS and under boot devices it appears as "P1 WD7500BPKX" Do I need to download a driver or something for it to work??

You might need to format it first. Try using the Disk Management utility first. Remember... this will wipe everything off the drive.

The disk isn't showing up to format though.. Only have a Disk 0 and CD-ROM.
