Just wondering if i should go with a FX4170 or a 6100.Those are the only two that fit into my price range, I have been doing a lot of research and can't really make up my mind so i thought I would ask my fellow ROG members.
MOBO - Crosshair V Formula
CPU - AMD Phenom II x4 980 BE 4.2 😄 overclock
COOLER - H60 PUSH PULL
RAM - 8GB G.Skill RIPJAWS X
GPU - HD 6870x2
HDD - 1tb
PSU - Rosewill 630 This PSU is GREAT
CASE - Coolermaster Enforcer
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit

6100 has 6 cores v 4 cores I'd go with the 6 myself.

Or could pay a bit more and go for the 8 core 🙂 i have the 8 core and it never lets me down :cool:
Reviews say that the fx series are only good for servers and high load computers.
Im not a intel fan boy or anything i have a fx 8120 my self the 8 core but the fx does lag some times....

The FX run to hot for my tastes.

I would go for the X6 1090T Black Edition.

I did notice that when i was doing my research, I also confirmed that the fx4XXX are not really 4 core processor. So at the moment I decided on a AMD Phenom II X4 965 that Im going to over clock. Sounds good to anyone?

Save your money.

If you want to play games with decent FPS, FX is no better than Phenom II X6.

So what would you guys recommend for gaming?The 8 cores seems like over kill and most games wont even use all 8.
