F751LAV no post scan

Hi all,

about 4 days ago i bought a f751LAV laptop with an 500gb 5400rpm disk,

i still had one OCZ agility available and cloned the disk to the ocz ssd disk.

windows booted up fine and i was able to reboot it a couple of times.
then i shut down the laptop completely and started it up a minute of 10 later.
the laptop booted straigt into the bios, and as i checked the drives, the bios did not recognize the drive.
then i gave it a reset by pressing ctrl+alt+del. and it booted into the bios again, but this time the bios did recognize the ssd!!

it seems that every time i have a "cold start" the drive is not recognized, and when i do a sofware reboot it does.
in the bios i cannot find any options of telling the bios to do a pre-"POST" scan, so that it will recognize the ssd every time.

does anyone have ideas how to fix this?? so it recognize the drive, even when the laptop has been completely off?

Greets,
Ziglar

It's possible that the laptop boots too fast for the drive to initialize. Does the OCZ drive have a firmware update? Or is there any option in the BIOS to delay HDD detection time?

Hi, the bios from the laptop is up to date, there is no option to delay the hdd detection.

i will try with an Samsung 840 ssd that i bought recently for my desktop computer.
the disks that i tried are all ocz vertex 3 /agility 3.

an firmware update is not a bad idea. i will try that also
Thnx, i will post the results

updating the 2 year old firmware did the trick, its working like a charm now.
Thans for the help!!
