Hi all,

My project is going pretty well, nearly have all my watercooled parts (£700 spent so far eek) but im just wanting some help with my GPU waterblocks and what Terminal i need....

I have a ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z board and been advised i'd need a parallel triple EK terminal to join 2 of these together:

http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc7970-matrix-acetal-nickel.html

Here is what was suggested, using a blank as to get 16x 16x i need to use 1st and 3rd PCI slots

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=17642&cat=3027&page=

I just can't see how these fit together, please help before i order ( or am i being a total n00b ?)

Cheers 🙂
Paul

After a bit of digging i think im right in presuming the terminal that comes on the matrix card can be unscrewed and then the triple terminal screwed in?

My build so far:

2x EK 7970 Matrix Platinum Waterblocks
1x EK Supreme CPU Waterblock
2x EK Coldstreem XTX 480 Rads
1x EK Crosshair V Formula Z Mobo Waterblock
2x EK Blood Red Koolant
1x XSPC 270 Photon Res/Pump Combo

Just need 8 fans, tubing and fittings now, and terminal for cards

You need to measure the spaces between your pcie slots, most boards have a standard 40.6mm spacing but some are different.
By looking at your board I would guess it has 40.6mm spacing so you will need this
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/18974/ex-blc-1422/EK_Terminal_Block_-_Triple_Parallel_-_Black_Acet...
and this
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/19690/ex-blc-1448/EK_Terminal_Block_-_Blank_Parallel_EK-FC_Termina...
put the blank in the middle slot of the terminal(don't forget the rubber o rings) then you remove the stock links from your waterblocks and put the rubber o rings in the terminal and then install the terminal using the screws from your stock links. I have the exact same one I think you will need. Its a super easy install so don't worry bout it.

You have the wrong connector for those blocks... the Matrix blocks have slots instead of round openings after you take off that connection part... - you need the CSQ bridges, not the FC Terminal ones...

This information is incorrect, I just installed the FC Terminal so I know for a fact they have the slits. Just look at the pictures on the links I posted.

Ooops, indeed, Puffy you're right!

Damn, EK is changing their product names... bottom line, you need connectors which have slots, not round holes. Whatever their name would be... Sorry for confusion!

Those product links Puffy posted are the correct ones, just checked mines.
