DVD drive keeps crashing..

Hey Everyone,

Not too sure what the problem is with this one...

I have just purchased a Maximus iv Ranger board Fresh installed windows 7 from the windows cd. i get into windows try to put a cd into my dvd drive and it just crashes and falls off device manager??

Due to this happening im unable to install drivers off the disk 😞

any help would be much appreciated thanks 🙂

How did you install windows if the DVD drive keeps crashing? Can you list your full system spec's(make it easier to help you). Can you get online? Load the system drivers from there, see if that helps you. Also try swapping the Sata plug where the DVD drive is plugged into(on the mother board), reboot after changing it.

I had an old drive laying in the shed plugged that in and works fine... lol the one i took out was only 6months old 😮 heap of crap !
