Hi all, I'm back again!...Hope everyone is well! Have a question on Page Filing in Windows 7 64 bit...
I just shut down hibernate and saved around 30gigs of space...( my Pc is just for gaming)...I have 32 Gigs of memory, I can save an additional 16gb's if I change my page file from 32 to 16384....Do I need anymore than 16384??

Really? Do we need page filing for gaming?

According to my understanding, a few games require the presence of a page file. But most of the modern games that I've tested does not ask for such a thing. And with 32GB of RAM, I don't think you'd need one.

Wel Thanks Chino for the info! I'm going to change my page file to 16gbs rather than 32gbs.
Thanks!

Thanks!

The pagefile is desired in case the user doesn't have enough RAM, and I would guess that 32 GB is more than enough. 🙂 You could set it lower, if you like, to 8 GB or so. Just watch your memory usage for the next few days and see what percentage of system RAM is used. Task manager does it, and shows the memory utilization without the page file.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

With the amount of installed ram you have I use a 4GB page file and never have issues even with programs that require that a page file exists.

Yup. I have one that Windows manages, as I recall, and I need it occasionally, since I have run programs that will utilize nearly all of my 16 GB of RAM. LOL. 😛
