In BIOS pressing F5 sets optimized defaults....and then F10 is save and exit...should have you running at stock while you sort things out with them....

ASUS probably said that since Scan say not to do anything...warranty stuff etc.
You can either switch the PC off and send it back to them...or take the pragmatic approach and wash your hands of them and learn to make some adjustments yourself (with help here of course)...my only fear would be that they have mixed memory kits in there or some such or that something is actually faulty....
