DDR4 overclocking on X99 boards

Are some of the newer X99 boards and/or revisions of boards allowing for easier overclocking of DDR4? Specifically, are there now more memory dividers to allow for speeds greater than 2666 without needing to go to 125 strap?

Still trying to read up on X99 overclocking....what are the drawbacks of running strap at 125? Aside from the usual voltages and SA voltage, what other settings need to be adjusted for when running strap at 125 in addition to trying to OC the CPU? Thanks.

Yes and no...

Biggest influence on your RAM OCing is of course going to be your CPU...

That said some of the newer boards are qualified at higher frequencies...such as Gigabyte SOC Champion

I run 3000 and 3200 perfectly stable on 100 BCLK on my RVE and SOC...
