Hi guys. I have a 6700k stock on a z170 pro gaming mb. I set my core voltage to adaptive since on auto the mobo raised it to 1.365V, i'm targeting around 1.25 so i set 1.25v on aditional turbo mode voltage and a 0.001v offset. But when i test it with prime95 or when i'm on the BIOS, the voltage doesn't go over 1.12V, is it normal? Will it damage my CPU? and why it doesn't go as i set it?
Intel uses something called Vdroop to protect CPUs at load...the CPU drops some voltage to avoid spikes going over (spikes that are so short you can't measure them with software)
I think that's what you are seeing. It certainly won't damage the CPU...the opposite.
