CPU Voltage

Hi guys & gals.

New owner of an ASUS Maximus VI Formula and i7 4770K.
As I am not that knowledgeable on overclocking I tried using AI Suit 2 and 4-Way Optimization. I wen for the 4.6 o/c and ast this stage it all seems ok.

My question is tho, is1.312 volts for CPU Core too high? For some reason I have 1.25v in my head as a recommended max voltage.

Appreciate the help.

Cheers...

Hi netwalker!

What are your temps at full load? I have a i7 4770K aswell and im running it stable at 1.35-1.355v.

Max temp peak Realbench 2.0: C1: 77°, C2: 77°, C3: 77°, C4: 75°.

While playing Battlefield 4 my temps are around 55-63° and peaking at 68°.

If your cooling is sufficient, what i am supposing since you have the same closed loop system that i do, everything is ok 😉 no worries!

Cheers

Cheers...I have yet to stress it and check temps. That's happening tonight 🙂

Sure! Give me / us some feedback how everything went and how your temps are!

However I do not reccomend you overclocking with AI Suite, do it directly out of the BIOS.

100% agree with that.

Cheers guys,

In the end I dropped it to 4.4@1.264 and all seems quite stable. I bought 3D Mark to run the Fire Strike testing but it errors on me pretty much right after starting 😞

Hey netwalker! So what are your temps? How did you stresstest it? I reccomend you doing Realbench 2.0 three times in a row! Thats what Hivizman recommended to me!

What error is Firestrike giving you?

Did you OC your GPU?

Cheers

Well, I ran RB2 for a 5 run cycle and it all seemed OK at a max temp of 75 degrees c.

Did the stress test and it only lasted 6 minutes before it rebooted 😞

4.4 MHz @ 1.264

Hey netwalker

If you passed RB2 5 times in a row you should be fine with your OC! However you can do some stress testing aswell with the RB2 stresstest which is indeed very heavy!

Nope you got it right the ROG RB benchmark is better than the stress test.

Firestrike extreme tests different things and the first test is all about your graphics card not the CPU.
