I bought a new computer last week:
-Intel quadcore i7 2600 3.4GHZ
-Asus Maximus IV Extreme
-Radeon HD6970 2gb
-8gb DDR 1333 kingston
-HD Samsunsg 154UI 1.5TB SATA 5400RM
-Thermaltake ATX 850w TR2 RX

but i got some problems like computer restarting and then not turning on.
Theres a video showing how it happens:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_mBQmso4uM

I sent it back to where i bought and they sent it back working.
My friend told me to check the temperature and make some tests.

I got this temperatures while the computer was only downloading softwares

Then i saw this:

He told me that CPU Turbo Ratio its not normal, and my motherboard is overclocked, and i have to put it back to normal (like 38x??) cause it can bring me early problems.

I tried to put it back on BIOS using default setting, but nothing happens, and then i tried to change AI Overclock Tuner to NORMAL, and Turbo Ratio to 38x, but i dont know how to do it, and i dont know if thats right.

So can u please help me?
-Is it normal to have a non overclock mb on CPU Turbo Ratio at 59x?
-How can put it back to default settings?
-What should I do?
😞

Ty so much

There is no such multiplier available on the SandyBridge and if you CPU can do it then you have a unique and golden CPU which I would gladly buy from you. 🙂

Download CPUz and run a single threaded application such as Super PI and see what the multi changes to in the CPUz main screen.

Use Coretemp to read your temps or download HWMonitor. Only have one app open at a time that reads the temps please.

Thanks for reply HiVizMan.

-CPU Multiplier value was in the beginning 16.0x and after i run Super Pi 38.0x
-Core temp: PC Idle-> Core #0 #1 #2 #3 ~39°C
Core temp running stress test (Prime 95 http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/) after 3 minutes:

*Core #0 89°C
*Core #1 94°C
*Core #2 94°C
*Core #3 90°C

that temperature worried me 😕 is something wrong with my MoBo ?

It all depends on your cooler, what are you using?

And as you can see you are most certainly not running at 59x 🙂

If you are getting those temps with that overclock on stock, your CPU is bloody amazing. LOL

And no problem my friend, in a few weeks I am sure you will be helping folks like a pro.

Yeah hehe.. I hope 😜

U say "amazing" on a good or bad way?
"Amazing that cpu support those temps"
"Amazing, how that cpu can get those temps without a overclock?? Omg thats not good"

I didn't overclocked my pc, i just bought it new.
Is it overclocked? If it is, how can i back it to "non-overclock"?
I just want to run BF3 on ultra and stay cool

Im too stupid ><

i use Hwinfo too and it always shows x59 for turbo, as far as your temps go, they are really high, try checking your voltages while turbo is kicked in (not with core temp either as it always shows 1.36 as max volatage) CPU Vcore, CPU VTT, VCCSA (i dunno if your mobo has VCCSA) but these are voltages that can all greatly affect your cpu heat output, if they are all in check i'd clean up your heatsink throw some new thermal paste on there and reseat

If you are overclocked they would be very good. Amazing was a bit of tongue in cheek actually.

Yes I know you are not overclocked, it is the dry British humour in me, and I apologise for the possible misunderstanding.

You do need to get your cooler reseated or at least think about getting a new after market cooler.
