cpu paste test

Had nothing to do, so why not another scientific test

I lapped the cpu with great care, even more..

I used an even layer of paste, instead of nap..

Indoors, running for 10 min, then screen-cut..

3930K

4,5 ghz

idle, 0,848 V

load 1,335v

Fanspeed, around 15-20%

And yes..

almost 1 degree lower idle temp..

it must be great having me aboard, who else.. ;o)

Check your cpu coolers, if they are ground flat... ;o)

u will be surprised, some dont even have contact with the cpu (hardly).. So the paste has a function, yes. To fill up the massive void..

Just checked a brand new air-cooler model from Artic,, and only a very small contact between cpu and block..

I used a flat grounded cpu, and 2 pcs EK cpu blocks as reference..

And Corsair H100 isnt any better. Its like a ashtray..

if you now care.. lets say
