cpu paste test

Had nothing to do, so why not another scientific test

I lapped the cpu with great care, even more..

I used an even layer of paste, instead of nap..

data>

Indoors, running for 10 min, then screen-cut..

3930K

4,5 ghz

idle, 0,848 V

load 1,335v

Fanspeed, around 15-20%

And yes..

almost 1 degree lower idle temp..

it must be great having me aboard, who else.. ;o)

Cheers

Lets do a little load testing.-->

stress test used>

Everest

Floating point enabled (fpu).. To add more load on the cpu

Fan profile> Turbo

First the 4,5 ghz.. around 30 sec.. Probe 41c Everest 52c
Image

Next up 5,0 ghz, a little longer.. around 1 min.. Probe 55c Everest 66c
Image

This confirm what i have been suspecting all the time, Supremacy is made by Polars..

Why are you still using Everest instead of Aida64? Also what exactly are you testing and why only stress the CPU for such a short amount of time. I'm very confused
Intel 3770K @ 4.7GHz
ASUS Maximus V Formula
8gb (2x4GB) Crucial Ballistix
Sapphire 7950
Crucial M4 128GB

I so want to do mine!! but in a moment of weakness I took the Intel CPU insurance and lapping would void it....... for 1 degree I wont do it....I have supreme HF maybe a change of block will net me 2 degrees as EK say.....maybe Christmas present....

no, it makes more than 1c, the cpu was slightly modified prior to the lapping..

The Supremacy is a way better performing that Supreme, at least thats my opinion..

Hmm, yes one of those insurances may be something for my next cpu.. Whats the pricetag?

35 dollars.... http://click.intel.com/tuningplan/ cheap enough for peace of mind I suppose....just stops me flattening the IHS and it could do with flattening!
