Corsair H100i fan compatibility

Hi,

I am going to put this cooler in my new build. I would like to extend the default configuration with a pull-push one. I want to use Corsair fans from this page: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/case-fans

Now my question is:
1) should I go for quiet or a performance edition? In theory pull-push with quiet should be OK for good OC, right?
2) should I go for the PWM or normal version?
3) Is there any issue with connectivity with the h100i? I read about 3 pins, 4 pins and 6 pins.. it is a mess! Can you help me?

Thanks a lot!

Hi mlx.milamo

Static pressure = radiator

Air flow fan = case cooling

For h100i use static pressure and pwm. You can control the pwm fans with corsair software

3 pin fans are a interchangeable fit to 4 pin motherbo

push pull exhaust is still a small decrease in temps. It will not hurt to have them if you have the case room

2x the fans 2x the noise, depends on your case you are using

Hi

I am going to use a Corsair 760T.
Following your suggestion, I will go with the static pressure + PWM.
I guess the screw and connectors I need will be already in the boxes..

Thanks a lot!

I use the H100i for cooling on my i7 4770k in push pull. you definitely want the static pressure PWM fans. I would suggest getting some of the SP120L fans that come with the radiator. You will see lower temps then with the fans you linked to. they can be purchased as replacement fans here http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/hydro-series-h80i-h100i-sp120l-2700-rpm-replacement-fan these fans were designed to work with the h100i and will provide better cooling. I actually bought 6 extra of the SP120L fans for my other radiators in my build. All my liquid cooled components stay anywhere from 5-15*C cooler then with other fans.

I am not sure that I can buy replacement fans since I live in Switzerland.. but I will see. Many Thanks for all the info. Very useful! 😉
