Condensation?

A friend of mine gave me a CoolWorks Ice Probe and i'm considering inserting it into my water loop. The probe will decrease the temp of 10 gallons of water buy 8F. Given the small amount of water in my loop am I inviting condensation problems.

Most certainly. But if you insulate correctly that will be manageable.

I did a little reading and insulating the cpu (applying a di-electric), coating the board with neopream, and foam insulating all tubing seems a bit overboard, but, i might get bored and do it sometime.

from what I read it's 10 liter ( 2 gal) / day , this is for a bucket of water, in a computer the water is heated by the CPU , my guess is that it will not cool at all the water in your loop, or at least nothing noticeable.

Maybe i'll add the probe just to test it, if theres no danger of condensation. Thanks for the clarification.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd bother with installing it at all..

I highly doubt you'll see any real world benefits, but possibly quite a bit of hassle. Why do you think the days of pelts under Danger Den Maze-4's have gone?

However, if you do decide, pictures and temps please 🙂 I'd be very happy if you proved me wrong.

Here is a pic of my Cool-it it has 6 not 1 Peltier ( what you call di-epletric ) look at the massive heatsink and the huge fan. This thing is not even close to make condensation . Just to give you an idea , if we come back to the 20 gallons aquarium, it need only a 50 watts heater to keep it warm, a i5 CPU produce 95 watts , and this not even OC. To be some kind of efficient you will need more than 4 of your cooler plunge in the reservoir of a real Water Cooling system, because you will need for sure a rad to lower the temps too.

Ok. You have convinced me to abandon this idea. I'll just drop another 240 rad into my system. Thanks for all your research and hard logic.
