Hi guys. I just recently changed my motherboard from a ROG Maximus Formula IX to an ROG Maximus Apex IX. The one difference between the two was that I was able to hit 4133mhz ddr speeds vs 3733 on the Formula. The only problem I noticed was that about 1.5 hours of gaming...my computer will freeze (like it’s about to crash/BSOD) for about 10 sec...then it continues like normal?!? So weird but I noticed that this only occurs when my memory is running at 4133mhz. The computer is stable and I don’t get any BSOD but these freezes are really weird. Anyone have any idea as to why these 10 sec freezes are occurring? I found that it occurs on games on my m.2 drive and 3.5HD as well.
I would certainly put that on the ram and call it an unstable OC of the same. Keep in mind that anything over 2666 is an overclock. 3600 at C16 is virtually the same speed as the frequency is only half the equation.*
